Finger Drums
My first app release was a windows phone app written in C# with ‘Free’ and ‘Pro’ versions offering professionally recorded drum kits that look and sound pretty good. With over 400,000 Acquisitions of the free version, over 5000 downloads of the paid pro version, and an average rating of 4.3 / 5 worldwide, the app has been fairly well received by users. Some people complained of laggy response, but I could never reproduce this on any of the devices I tested it on.*
I put it together in a couple of weeks and originally had 4 kits and ads in the free version. Then at some point, I got to meddling and removed the ads and made it 2 kits and a link to the pro version. Excuse me, but I wasn’t making anything from those ads. Well, I got a bit trashed on the reviews for a while. One lives and learns!
*To be fair, I only tested it on one device.
